Introduction
We are looking for a permanent full-time Stress Analysis Engineer (Specializing in Composites) to join either our Saskatoon, Regina, or Calgary team! This position will be reporting to the Mechanical Discipline Lead.

Position Overview
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform load, deflection, strain, and stress analysis for the design of mechanisms and structures
- Perform the aforementioned analysis on mechanisms and structures constructed using metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and compare results with analytical techniques (e.g., mechanics of materials)
- Prepare and seal technical reports summarizing the results of the analyses
- Review, approve, and seal engineering deliverables, including issued for fabrication/construction drawings
- Perform structural analysis for structural/mechanical systems subjected to static, dynamic, and thermal loading conditions
- Ensure engineering designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, CSA, etc.)
- Develop testing plans to better understand structural response and behaviour
- Perform site visits to confirm existing conditions and ensure that accurate and up to date information is used in the engineering analysis
- Follow March’s project standards and procedures to develop high-quality deliverables
- Specify repair methods of composites
- Collaborative design with clients as well as manufacturing personnel
- Serve as a key member of the mechanical team and work closely with the structural team as well as other members to provide appropriate and constructive project recommendations based on engineering analysis
- Review and approve the work of junior engineers and provide mentorship as required
- Other duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or in a related engineering discipline is required; an advanced degree (M.Sc. or PhD) is considered a strong asset
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation from APEGS or another province
- Extensive experience in developing FEA models with commercial software (e.g., Altair, ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus)
- Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in heavy industrial and mining sectors is considered a strong asset
- Sound understanding of composite material theory, including laminate theory and anisotropic elasticity, composite strength and failure theories, static and dynamic stress analyses, buckling, vibrations and impact, and thermoelastic response
- Detail-orientated with a passion to create high-quality deliverables
- Must be comfortable working in a mining/heavy industrial environment to gather information and attend site meetings
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.
