March provides engineering, procurement, project, and construction management services to a variety of resource-based industrial and commercial enterprises. In addition, March and its employees have developed specialized expertise in feasibility studies and asset integrity in the heavy industrial sector.
Position Overview
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads discipline execution on projects (scope, quality, schedule for deliverables).
- Coaches team members and build capability across the discipline.
- Ensures safety, quality, and compliance are embedded in all discipline outputs.
- Drives innovation by identifying emerging tools, technologies, or methods that improve efficiency.
- Prepare comprehensive RFP packages, including scope of work, technical requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Participate and contribute in technical reviews such as HAZOP, 3D model reviews and constructability reviews.
- Reviews discipline deliverables to ensure conformance with project requirements.
- Manage the design package for procurement, fabrication and shipment to site.
- Coordinate activities across engineering disciplines to support early work and site services.
- Area Lead for all surface infrastructure package phases and needs.
- Collaborate with and lead teams to deliver project results, on schedule and within budget limits.
- Define project objectives and scope, involving all relevant internal and client stakeholders.
- Develop and baseline detailed project execution plans in collaboration with relevant project team members.
- Communicate project requirements to the project team; ensure expectations on scope, schedule, and quality deliverables are clear and understood.
- Manage project resources to achieve quality project deliverables working in conjunction with functional managers in a matrix environment.
- Coordinate third parties/vendors and sub-contractors.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to support permitting-related activities.
- Perform risk management to identify and mitigate project execution risks
- Report and escalate project risks to Project Sponsor, as appropriate
- Manage and document changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the duration of the project
- Develop and manage relationships and maintain efficient communication with March’s project teams, client and other relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to the continual improvement and development of project execution processes
- Promote safe work execution through project planning and manage throughout the project in compliance with all applicable safety programs, procedures, and plans
- Provide mentorship to team members within the Project Services team
- Identify potential business opportunities with existing and new clients, and support business development activities, as required
- Conduct site visits, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or a diploma in engineering technology, is required
- A minimum of 10 years of combined Project Management and/or Engineering work experience in a related field
- Professional Engineering designation, or eligibility for, in Saskatchewan or Alberta, would be an asset
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation required
- Proven history of successful project management
- Mining, mineral processing, or similar industrial experience is considered a strong asset
- Experience with project management software tools
- Knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently and demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to identify and analyze problems, create innovative solutions, and make informed decisions to facilitate project success
- Consistent conflict resolution skills
- Data analytic skills to analyze project performance and final deliverables against project objectives and goals

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.
