We are looking for a full-time Cost Estimator to join either our Saskatoon, Regina, or Calgary team! This position will report to the Manager of Project Services. We have multiple opportunities across Canada. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply.

March provides engineering, procurement, project, and construction management services to a variety of resource-based industrial and commercial enterprises. In addition, March and its employees have developed specialized expertise in feasibility studies and asset integrity in the heavy industrial sector.

Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates of probable costs for materials, labour, and equipment for construction and industrial projects using contract bids, quotations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Apply tendering procedures, analyze bids, recommend award decisions, and support negotiation activities.
  • Establish and maintain tendering processes, including cost monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements, forecasts, and progress updates throughout project lifecycles.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to validate scope, resolve discrepancies, and assess cost impacts.
  • Conduct economic feasibility reviews for design changes and cost adjustments.
  • Coordinate construction project activities and prepare construction progress schedules.
  • Leverage cost estimator experience to enhance cost accuracy, risk assessment, and procurement alignment for complex industrial projects.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a diploma in engineering technology is required
  • Several years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in a construction trade, such as plumbing, carpentry or electrical, are required
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a passion to create high-quality deliverables
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.

Work hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Work location: Saskatoon, Regina, or Calgary. We will consider remote work options for out-of-province candidates.
